Annapurna Foothills Trek

Annapurna Foothills TrekFor those who do not want to go to high altitude and want to be introduced to trekking in the Himalayas or have time constrains or planning or planning a Himalayan holiday with children then this trek is a perfect introduction to Nepal's mountain treasure.

The trek starts with a drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and entering the Kali Ghandaki valley which is said to have the deepest gorge of the world. The trek takes us through terraced rice and paddy fields, passing charming and colorful villages inhabited particularly by the Gurungs & Magars, entering dense rhododendron forests which in spring, bursts with many different hues and the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Peak) dominating the skyline.

One of the important highlight of this trip is to make a climb to Poon Hill (3,210m)from the village of Ghorepani (2,824m) to get one of the best sunrises over the Himalayan ranges in the world. When the sun rises, it touches the snow-capped summits of the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Machhapuchhre (6,997m) and Annapurna South (7,219m), and Annapurna I (8,091m) along with a maze of other peaks is a scene that captures ones imagination and leaves a memory to last a life time.
