Nepal the land of Himalayas as seen from a tour on a motorcycle is like no other tour. Ancient cities, monasteries, temples, colorful villages and vibrant culture, and the views of the Himalayas are all a part of this trip.
We start our journey from Kathmandu with an introduction trip around the city. The next day we negotiate out of the city traffic and head towards the Prithivi highway. We start descending reaching the plains of Nepal and after lunch we start ascending along the twist and turns of the mid hills of Nepal to arrive at Bandipur. Bandipur is a pleasant charming hill town situated on a crest of the ridge that offers a magnificent view of the Nepal Himalayas and the Marshyangdi valley. From here the next day we head towards Pokhara retracing our ride till we reach Dumre and from here we head westward following the Myrashindi River to the famous lake side city of Pokhara where we are greeting by the magnificent Fish tail mountain upon entering. From here we head towards the Baglun highway to Beni. From Beni we ride on the newly constructed dirt road towards Tatopani. As we start ascending the massif and magnificent views of the Himalayas start to be visible. The next day set out on the trail by following the Kali Gandaki River passing water falls and Thakali and Magar Villages to Dana and then steeply ascend to Ghasa (2,012m). The Kali Gandaki gorge is the deepest gorge in the world. As we pass between the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna mountain range, a dramatic change in vegetation is witnessed from green forests, to dry arid desert. The Thakali’s are the dominant tribe of the valley, related to the Gurung and Magars of the southern slopes. From here we head to Jomsom, the administrative center of the area and further up the valley to Muktinath. The village of Muktinath is one of the many pilgrimage places in the Kali Gandaki basin. At 3,800m, its eternal flame draws the Hindus and Buddhist alike and is therefore interesting to note the mixture of Buddhist and Hindu culture in this area. From Muktinath we get panoramic views of the Himalayas including Annapurna I, II and South.
We head back to Pokhara via Kagbeni and further down to Tatopani where we spend a night and reach Pokhara the next day. From Pokhara ride back to Kathmandu.
If you like the cold wind from the Himalayas heating your face with no obstruction of the Himalayan views and as they say just the nature and you on a two wheeler then this is an Adventure which you give you fond memories for a life time.
