A Glimpse of Everest

A Glimpse of EverestFor many people trekking in the Himalayas can be very strenuous because of the high altitude. Other reasons may be time constraints. This does not mean that you cannot see the Himalayas, the Sherpa culture, the fluttering prayer flags, mani's and prayer stone walls at close range. This Glimpse of Everest trek would be ideal for such visitors.

This trek starts from Lukla after an unforgettable flight from Kathmandu on a twin otter. From here we head northwards crossing hanging bridges, monasteries, Sherpa villages to reach Namche Bazar the biggest village in Khumbu region (Khumbu capital). An hour's hike up from Namche Bazaar and you are in Syangboche from where you can get magnificent views of Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Nupste along with Ama Dhablam, Thamserku and Kagtenga. Then we ascent further to the famous Thyangboche monastery. As seen from Thyangboche the views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablum, Kangtega and their Himalayan kind is a sight that will be embedded in your memory forever. The hospitality of these tough mountain people will remain with you for a long time.

Our return journey takes us back to the airstrip at Lukla, where we bid farewell to our new found Sherpa friends and fly back to Kathmandu.
