Everest High Passes Trek

Everest High Passes TrekWhen Nepal first opened itself to the outside world in the 1950's, the trail to Everest Base Camp became a prime ambition for many adventure seekers. Since then new routes, new challenges and passes have been discovered and this route of High passes is one of them. This trek is a more challenging alternative to the traditional trek to Everest Base Camp with an ascent of Kala Patar and Gokyo Ri as well as crossing the Himalayan mountain passes of Cho La (5,420m) and Renjo La (5,345m) without any technical climbing.

After visiting the temples, bazaars and restaurants in Kathmandu we take the classic flight to Lukla which is known as the gateway to Everest. From here we begin our trek northwards through pine forests and hanging bridges over the Dudh Kosi river to Namche Bazar the largest village in the Khumbu region. From Namche Bazar we walk to the magnificent Tyangboche monastery. From here we ascend all the way to Everest Base and Kalapathan (5,545m). After this we cross over Chola Pass to reach the beautiful and scenic valley of Gokyo with its lakes. Early next morning we climb Gokyo Ri to get some views of Mt. Everest and the Himalayan range. In the afternoon we explore the surrounding glacier lakes. The final pass Renjo La pass to reach Thame valley, one of the main trading routes of Nepal with Tibet.

If it is a challenge, tough hiking and magnificent views of the Himalayas that you are looking for then this is the ultimate adventure for you.
